Description & Services
Information | The mission of the Cape Breton Regional Library (CBRL) is to strengthen and inspire our communities by providing quality collections, cultural resources, programs and services in a welcoming environment where all can enjoy reading and learning. The CBRL is a safe, open and welcoming location for all members of the community that provides information resources and entertainment materials to residents and visitors of the CBRM and Victoria County through 12 branch libraries and 2 bookmobiles. The CBRL has helped to support lifelong learning since 1950. Libraries can facilitate learning that is flexible and available at different times, in different places. Equipment Loan Program The Library has a program in CBRM that lends sports equipment, including snowshoes and poles for the winter and tennis racquets in the summer. The sports equipment can be loaned out to individuals and families in CBRM at no cost. The snowshoes come in a variety of sizes for all members of the family. The Library also lends a wide variety of sports equipment in Victoria County as part of the Victoria County Active Gear Loan Program. Available in Victoria County only, this program provides free access to this equipment through the Baddeck and Ingonish Libraries and the Victoria County Bookmobile. There are adult and children’s skis, boots, and poles; reflective safety vests; various sizes of ice cleats; and snowshoes and poles in a variety of sizes. |
