Description & Services
Information | The Stewiacke Valley Historical Society has established the community museum in order to assemble, preserve, and display a collection of artifacts, photographs, and historical materials which reflect the history of this valley and the people who have lived here. Research materials available at the museum include over 2500 photographs, many genealogies for local families, books on community history, cemetery records, school registers, house histories and information of veterans from the area. Located in what was originally the Community Hall, the Museum is maintained and operated by volunteers and is home to the genealogical records of the area, housing a large collection of artifacts, dating back to the arrival of the Scots and Irish in the 1700's. Each year, the Museum volunteers showcase exhibits following a particular theme. |
