Description & Services
Information | The Cliffs of Fundy Geopark Welcome Centre provides pictures, videos and interpretive panels as well as trained interpreters, to explain the geology, history and culture of the Cliffs of Fundy Geopark, from the Fundy Discovery Site in Lower Truro in Colchester County to Apple River in Cumberland County. Geopark Guides and information on all Geosites are available here. On site is the only original World War II Observation Tower in Canada, which offers a spectacular view of the tides and countryside. There is also a large picnic and recreation area. Bike racks are provided for your convenience. A 10-minute walk to the beach and the Great Acadian Dyke. The Centre can also provide hiking trail information on trails throughout the Geopark - the Economy River Wilderness Area and Kenomee Trails; Mi'kmawey Debert Trail; MacElmond's Pond Trail in Debert; Thomas’ Cove Coastal Reserve Trails; Partridge Island Trail; Ward Falls Trail; Cape D'Or Trails; trails within Cape Chignecto Provincial Park and Five Islands Provincial Park. We carry maps for ATV trails, Five Islands Provincial Park, and Economy River Wilderness Area trails (we also register backcountry campers on Kenomee Trails). We are a Visitor Information Centre and offer brochures on retail outlets, restaurants, beach access, tide times, natural and built attractions. We can assist with genealogy searches through old school pictures, community histories, and family histories. |
