Information | The waters of Inverness are usually warmer as compared to many of the other salt water beaches in Nova Scotia. Lifeguard services July and August. Facilities: - Ample parking - Canteen facilities - Washrooms - Boardwalk along the beach (new boardwalk 2018) - Boardwalk/sidewalk from Central Avenue to the beach - Within town limits, many conveniences are located nearby. Beach is known for the potential of high surf conditions which can cause rips and lateral currents. |
Accessibility | Fully Wheelchair Accessible ; Please use the boardwalk access the beach. Do not walk on the sand dunes. Inverness Beach is known for strong currents/riptides in August which are a danger to swimmers. Please take the time to read the signs posted with information on riptides. Information on riptides will be available from the lifeguard on duty and at the visitor information centre. |
