Description & Services
Information | Our club is located in the beautiful seaport town of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, a two hour drive south of Halifax. The club was opened in 2000, and features a cozy carpeted lounge area which was designed and built by club members. A modern bar, kitchen, and washroom facilities make the club a perfect place to get together. The three sheet ice surface is considered by many to be the finest playing surface in Nova Scotia. The ice is fast with lots of late curl, conditions preferred by curling's best players. Since opening in 2000, the Shelburne Curling Club has hosted several Provincial events. The club has twice held the NS Senior Ladies championships, Gold Trial Senior events, Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts playdowns, South Zone Tankard Playdowns for the Brier, and the Senior Mixed Provincial Chamionship. Membership rates are very reasonable. There is a Men's leagues, a Ladies league, a Mixed league, and two Seniors mornings every week. A Juniors league is also available. The Shelburne Curling Club enthusiastically supports the Special Olympics program and in 2007, won the gold medal for curling in Nova Scotia. Shelburne boasts one of the finest harbours in the world and some of the friendliest people in Atlantic Canada. With a modern Yacht Club, Marina, Arts Centre and Curling Club, the town is becoming one of the brightest jewels in Nova Scotia. |
